Can we visit the pumpkin patch and pick apples on the same trip?
Absolutely. Many visitors enjoy making a full fall outing by picking apples and choosing pumpkins during the same visit. Both experiences are part of what makes autumn at the orchard so special.
Do I need to bring my own bags or containers?
Please bring a grocery sack or your own bag if you have them. We have limited amounts of bags on site.
Do we pick apples ourselves?

Apples are priced by the pound. Pricing varies for apples sold off the tree and off the ground.

Are school visits allowed?
Yes, we enjoy welcoming school groups during the picking season. Advance coordination is required to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone.
Can we bring a large group?

Are pets allowed?
Well mannered pets are allowed as long as they are on a leash.
Do you ever close unexpectedly?

We do not offer restrooms at this time.
What should we wear?
We recommend comfortable shoes suitable for uneven ground and weather-appropriate clothing. Conditions may be muddy after rain. Gloves are recommended for pumpkin picking.
Is apple picking safe?
Apple picking is a seasonal outdoor activity on a working farm. Visitors participate at their own risk. We ask that you move carefully, watch your footing, and supervise children at all times.
Can we climb the trees?
No. For safety reasons and to protect the health of the trees, climbing trees is not permitted.

Apple sales are in-person only. Due to lack of internet connectivity, we accept cash or check. We do not process credit or debit cards at this time.

We accept cash or check only for pumpkin purchases and other items available at the orchard.
Do you sell anything besides apples?
During the harvest season, you may also find locally made jams, other value-added goods, and Hatches Orchard merchandise available at the orchard stand. Availability varies by season.
How are pumpkins priced?
Pumpkins are priced individually based on size and variety. Pricing is posted at the orchard so visitors can easily see the cost of their pumpkin before purchasing.
Can we pre-pay or reserve apples?
No. Apple picking is first-come, first-served during open hours. We do not offer reservations or pre-paid picking.
Can we schedule professional photo sessions?
Professional or commercial photography sessions must be approved in advance. Please contact us to inquire.
Can we take photos?
Yes. We welcome casual photography during your visit. Please respect the orchard, other visitors, and farm equipment. If you are posting on social media, we only ask that you tag us!
Do you host weddings or private events?
At this time, Hatches Orchard does not host large events. We are thoughtfully exploring small gatherings in the future.

Do I need to bring my own tools or containers to pick pumpkins?
No special tools are needed. Visitors simply choose their pumpkins in the patch and bring them to the checkout area. Staff will help make sure your pumpkin is weighed or priced properly before purchase.
